The lightness.

A poem about how I've been feeling lately.

I see the rays on sunlight,
Trickle down into my space,
Like oceans of bright radiation,
Finding a home, finding a place.

They settle on my skin,
Staying still, I close my eyes.
The beams dance and flow,
Like the tame touch of gentle fires.

Where is the darkness now?
It once consumed my soul,
But now I'm bathed in light.
I'm pure, I'm real, I'm whole.

No shadow surrounding me.
No heavy draping of dispair.
No crushing feeling within.
No heartache, no pain, not a tear!

I'm floating in a blue sky.
Walking on white light.
Surrounded by peace not pressure.
Finally taking flight.

Almost has the sound of a resurrection. I feel the light must be symbolic of some spiritual power, one powerful enough to lift one out of a spiritual darkness. Somehow, I get the impression the darkness is depression.
