The Rain Falls Slowly

The Rain Falls Slowly

A Story by Dismal
"

A short descriptive story for my english assignment on creative writing.

"

I look up at the narrowing tries,
taking small steps and slowly turning in a circle,
hearing the calming sound of the rain gently hitting the ground,
with every step I feel the smush of rubber soles sinking into the dampened soil,
I feel the water drops fall onto my cold cheeks not knowing if they are my own tears or the sky's,
the smell of the pine, the smell of the rain, the soil, the grass,
I take off my rubber boots and let my feet feel the soft moss and the cool rough dirt.

Dazed from spinning I rest against the rough shaggy bark of the pine tree,
I look up at the mighty though mothering tree,
I am in pieces.

I honestly have no idea where I was going with this, I tried.
I apologize for my poor grammar and seemingly small vocabulary range in this short write.

This is a really nice poem. Love feel and flow to it. And then the ending really surprises me. With a shock. As your in pieces. It's your feel disconnected and needing mothered but feel broken when you become one with nature. Interesting concept and good poem.
