get lost

get lost

A Poem by Annabelle Lee

Looking for a muse
Something to keep me going
I'm getting so confused
And in my poetry it's showing

My latest have kind of sucked
It's okay to admit
And I'll pretty soon be fucked
If I can't get it fixed

I have a mind full of words
And a heart full of feelings
But together it just hurts
I'm about to hit the ceiling

I don't know where it went
I can't find my inspiration
The only thing I've dreamt
Is of my own irritation

Nothings terribly right
And nothing's terribly wrong
I just can't figure out my life
And I've nothing to write on

So what's a teenage poet to do
When the only thing she wants
Is to write her poetry and not be confused
And even wishes like that tend to get lost

There is always something to write about. If anything at all throught the day leaves a lasting impression you, write it down. It will help lots. Also you dont always have to write from your pain or happiness. Try writing something silly, it will give you some laughs, and the block will be released. This will lead to many great poems that I am looking forward to reading. :)

THank you
It is the sweetest irony, writing a great piece about writer's block. You did a good job writing through it. Great stuff.

Always.
well let me tell you something, teenage poet
this one is far from "sucked" this poem is really really amazing!
it treats writer's block with such reality, believe me girl i know what you mean, i've been there, but let me just tell you something, it goes away and the muse comes eventually every single time :)
great poem!

Apparently you've moved past it since you've written this...we all get into that slump on occasion. Pen on Annabelle...

The words are there, you know they are, you just can't catch them and cast them out. It's not fun when it happens but your creative juices will run and the block will walk away. This too shall pass.

thank you
Nice rhyme and meter Annabelle. My computer is full of half assed rymes and limericks from going through the same thing. I'm sure there's writers on the WC who think everything I write is half assed but screw them. You know this is a good poem so at least for this one you broke out of writers block.

what you're referring to herein is writer's block or slump. it happens to the best of us. nothing to worry about...your muse will return!
