Silver Blades

Silver Blades

A Poem by Stu. T.H.
"

A collision between my old and new style of writing.

"
Silver blades formed upon a mirror lake,
As the ethereal mistress rises, her servants skate,
And you will sorely miss the sight if you are late,
The scenic sight when the lake was glazed.

This is just a rant, you may ignore this, my dear viewers.

A little secret, between you and I, I was stumped, stunned, and caught off guard by my unknowingness of what to write next after the first line (from Sep 1, the others are done today/ Nov 16).
My aliases collided, back then I wrote works in the mindset which belonged to the alias Donny Wells, and nowadays, as Leon or Dan Rastley.
This may seem strange or very much delusional, but the way I mentally engineer myself to develop such certain aliases is to create a diverse range of works and lately, I feel out of touch with my old style as Donny Wells!
I suppose that just means I've changed, and certainly improved greatly despite having to sacrifice my posh and brandished way of talking. Still, such phenomenon is to me, very queer...

Here in Alabama, if a lake freezes and you blink, you miss it. I have to say I admire your many aliases and incarnations. I thought I was the only one who defined their many personalities with names and character traits. You should meet the one that's an English librarian with an invisible monkey named Monkey. (And no, I'm not kidding.) I enjoy your whimsy, mostly because my work is deadly serious. Thank you for being a breath of fresh air!

Old and new come together to form one singular piece. I have a couple of pen names I write under. I would tell you what they are but people would be really confused although some of my writings.

Good read.

With love,

You have some delightful clauses in this piece: the ethereal mistress rises: scenic sight when the lake was glazed.

I understand what you said about your writing changing. We always hope it is toward the better, which leads me to recall the admonition I hear over and over from Tim Green editor of Rattle that a poem should have in it some type of movement, an awakening or subtle change if you will. FWIW
