Confession: Can a Sinner Dream of a Night Full of Stars ?

A Chapter by Stu. T.H.

"Sonnet: Can a Sinner Dream of a Night Full of Stars ?

You wonder if a Sinner can Dream of a Night full of Stars,
Then I'll try to pen my thoughts as much as I can, with grace,
A Sinner can indeed Dream of a Night full of Stars,
But those glimmering lights remind them of their scars and sorrow so late,

You wonder if a Sinner as I can get a Good Night Dream,
Of course we can, though the happiness it grants is short-lived,
Especially under nights when the Mistress of the Moon eyes me with her Gleam,
Judging my Fate with a gaze so stern and yearning so deep,

Sinners as I, do we deserve to see a Night full of Stars?
That, I wonder that too, at times, during my ragged sleep,
Happiness, to us sinners, is always afar,
While grudges and bruises scarring our faces so deep,

But still, a Sinner can indeed Dream of a Night full of Stars,
Even in alleys, trash heaps, or a district full of drunken bars.

- Dan Rastley"

...

A Sinner as I, am illiterate, one cannot write verses so complicated,
Though, if the Moon desires from me a confession, I'll surely write it,
Though, what a hassle it is,
For me having to write verses,
Hmph. Perhaps this is another way to pass my time,
To think nonchalant words and write unmeaningful rhymes,
Fools of this world, I envy you,
Because you may chase praises for whatever you do,
But I, I too, desire to chase such vainglory,
To reminisce in the old days that it used to be,
For me... to indulge in some company,
If I must confess, I feel much lonely...

...

My friends, where art thee?
Why didn't you allow me to seek thee?

...

Regardless, I'll chase after you in my dreams,

... What lies I tell myself.

It was me who abandoned our dreams.
It's true then, Sinners as I don't deserve to dream of a night full of stars, nor should we dream.

Stars, despite their vast distance apart, can still squint their eyes to see one another.

We, despite our brief distance apart, still yearn to part ways while reminisce in one another.

How, convoluted.

- Your dearest Sinner, Dan Rastley
