The Brightest Star

The Brightest Star

A Poem by DrStorm

Alone I am sailing on the ship,
No map in hand, on first far trip.
Yet I am moving with your light,
The brightest star, my only guide.

Now rain, now storm are closing in.
My darling's guidance - can't be seen.
I'm lost. Tears flowing from my eyes,
Lightning rends the storm-swept skies.

My ship is creaking from the waves,
I'm sinking down, as it breaks.
The salty water's filling lungs.
The brightest star, - I am too young.
