Tell me not

Tell me not

A Poem by The Ugly Rose

I am not a manequin.

Nor am I a w***e.

I am no model.

Nor am I an outcast.

I am no beauty.

But I believe I am something.

Do not tell me what I am

Who I am to be

What I shall become

And what I should do

Do not preach your religion to me

Nor your god.

I care not for he

Nor he for me.

I care for my own

And my own body will care for me

I need no comfort from the untold

I need no help from you, mother

I have no need for your lectures, father

Myself is all I demand

My own freedom to continue on the path

To my own future

Do not shape me to be your justified mold

Don't call me what you believe me to be

Leave me be

Hold me alone

I am what I wish to be

He is what I need

I am his own love

And he is my own life

We need not be your mold

We are your example for leadership
