Only In Dreams

Written during freshman year.

I feel you;

I feel you more than life,

and to touch you

(the way she does)

would be serenity’s dream.

Revel in your starlight,

I want you for just one night.

(for forever)

And I had a dream

A dream of rose-felt cheeks

and serenading tongues.

(bliss waking to bitterness)

And my waking hours more of a dream,

waiting to return to sleep,

as to wake from the nightmare.

(your beautiful temptress)

Temptress rising from my eyes;

may I slip past consciousness,

just so we can be.

(everything in me)

 

And for that I’d do anything.
