I try to write for you,

but nothing some to mind.

Staring into a blank sheet,

a blank canvas,

the words remain inside.

Maybe it’s too simple,

or much to complex.

Maybe words cannot describe,

or maybe there are none to say.

Or maybe I just have writer’s block.

(Now that wouldn’t surprise me one bit)

Or maybe I see too much

in my nothing-at-all.

My friend,

my “puppy,”

the one no one thinks of

as more than just that.

But still there is something

in this boy whom I call

"friend."

Still searching for something

in my nothing-at-all.

Maybe my feelings

aren’t strong enough for this poem.

Reviews

I like this one a lot because it leads you to a place where you feel hopeful for the puppy boy - but then you let it all crash in when you say there are not enough emotions to write for him. So sad. I hope I am not anyones puppy.

This is a good poem, I like it. This could be a great poem with a tweak or two. Read them aloud to yourself or to someone else. This will help you find the rough parts.
