Gas

Gas

A Poem by John Duprey
"

You ever have these same feelings? You're not alone.

"

You make me limited.

You make my life challenging.

In the back of my mind, you tell me that I am prohibited.

But without you, I can’t do any traveling.

You’re gas.

You’re important to me.

I can never make you last.

A shortage of you doesn’t make me glee.

Your price is high.

For me, you’re too expensive.

They all say your prices are going to come down, but that was just a lie.

It makes me a little apprehensive.

I would like to do traveling and do a fun activity

My girlfriend hates it when I complain about you.

Talking about you makes us all sensitive.

I hate telling her no, and that just makes her blue.

Please don’t be angry that I don’t like you.

I’m sorry everyone complains about you.

But gas we can’t let you pass through,

Without saying that we can’t stand you.
