Sylph

Sylph

A Poem by getinthecarplease

Black duel elegies in Melinoe melodies
The amphora frames the systems of pain
Underworlds and galaxies beyond the door
The room is folding as Sisyphus falls
Colonies of feelings invading the hollow minded
And fools march with chemistry devoid of humanity
The hills have all burnt and the cities are aflame
Photos of the innocent fall in the hands of the angels
A necromancer juggles fate with prisms of our eyes
The tapestry is woven at the base of the trance
And the dance of the visionaries is lost as the prophets laugh
In the cold fog near the lost pier
A canal lock hosts the minnow cavalcade
The mystic vision parts the sound
And the grounds tremble for the lighted path
Memories of the wake
Across from the silver lake
The hills aligned with the ash
The mountain holds the boulder dash
Euphoric in the prisons
As space and prisoners dine on dreams
In the tallest tree a minuet
Humming with a nymph of the sky
Who cures the lust for fire

WOW! Very powerful and haunting imagery, my favorite line "A necromancer juggles fate with prisms of our eyes" is so imaginative. I can't say enough about this poem, it will say with me for days it is so good and dark and I love dark poetry.
