A Poem by getinthecarplease

A dim path to the glory of light and center

Concrete draped in bulb and glass, fiercely shuttering

Over cold streets with travelers young and old

A congregation of masterpieces lost and found, hung and sold

Pictures of the flag’s face that is the ground they stand on

City of sorrow shrouded by fantasy and dream

Inri abbeys flooded with the heretical scream

Courtesan, coquettes dressed in the lavender leathers

In their mansions of mist, colored by clay and ermine

A globe painted by the strobe of sun in a room crushed and torn

In the park fog, malevolent affairs with the fortress of iron

In the celebration, a dust settles on the present and future

Concertos lost on the beach with theories for malign

Partisans perish in their liquid hate

Warfare between the dreamlit renaissance and forests of steel

Preservation of the principles of our play

The work and pay driving the dawn insane

Inside the silver minds, sit the rain

Jaunting jade in the gaseous pain

Gathering of the passions amid the battles

The heat of fifteen July’s penetrating

The market of revolution celebrating

The children who march to the circus

Of warming peace, an anomaly amidst the ice of the towers
