Woe of Opal Skies

Woe of Opal Skies

A Poem by getinthecarplease

I am woeful in these opal skies

As weirding canyon squish fractal dreams

The buoy wanders along oceans to streams

And my rhododendron fields face the storms

A bitter wind of memory, An invocation to silence

As shoofly tastes of autumn harvest

As viaducts flood with broken promise

Terrapin foxglove echoes upon this geothermal ignition

A rash of calyx and petals flash as lotus metal

Crayons melt in spectrums of cavernous mind

In a clearing of the stage stands actor and page

To a swashbuckler eventide of rum and shattered midnight

A burning rite of serving veal and the meals for their gods

The delusion wanders peat and fen for their amber end

To repeat in endless qualms along the elixir seas

As the racquetball blisters glass in events of our shame

The name remains shouting from the widows in the rain

As slimy glimmers of sunlight stab the nimbus shroud

A potion of faith has entered from this cloud

I am woeful in these patterned lies

Yet the union shall retain pocketfuls of dignity

In this act of pitiful shame

As his remorse rapes the shattered egg in a Faberge style

At the turnstile, the pragmatist shall wait a while

A peak in its zany avalanche of death

Weeps along as its sister falls to the shore illusory

Above are the waxing stars in a chorus of light

They shall burn in my dreams of oval streams

To the wish of fifteen julys in opal skies

Coy of patron liberty sits blindly with her blades

In whispers to the bridge of leaping dreams in paradise gleams

And I shall run from my woe to a fellowship bellow

A guardian eye of pageantry and artistry

Weeping in the sunlight as supernova swallows the face

Of worlds we once knew, now strangers to the nature

Entwined in the grapevine, forsaken on the lake

To a bulb of blossom bliss on the corner of the mist

We shall burn in this candlelight of infancy

Rebirth in the fog of unknown infinite

Looking to the fields with a hope and a glimpse

As the eyes flicker and memories of awake

Disturb the echoic dream along scarborough streams
