BORDEL

BORDEL

A Poem by Eagle Cruagh
"

Satyrical concept of pop culture

"

    BORDEL

Patience fella`s, notice where we put the "a",
Tell the truth now are we not a
picky lot ?
Where we find the Almighty is on our side
When we politically abide

No Bordella in this story , no bordello either
But did you notice how ears perked up
At the suggestion of scandalous behavior ?
We hang, we native specie, on the hint of
Sad or melancholy lives

And the suggestion that we are corrupt
Is enough to send us into a dither
For we are a strange and duplicitous culture
Where the hint of predators and filth
Intrigue`s our dark, black and animal nature

Bordel my lord must be ok
We did not mean to offend
The word is a waffle and it will bend
to suit whatever power treads
So, we bow to all the others

Dark, black, murky world, where intrigue
Is hinted, maybe said
Compassion for the underworld , dream
Flatulence par excellence in place of joy
Bordel is perhaps another toy

In our brave world , so far above
The stiff in overalls
Let no one think a pure thought
Less he`s found to have no balls
Think and advertise your denigration

Don`t ever suggest a tenderness
You may be thought to pander guile
Build higher with the stuff of bowels
Salute the under-belly of the world
Some may hold their place a while

Look up!
Above the sun is shining
Look up! Stars are too
Look up !  You are a winner
Look up! We all love you

How uplifting in the end though it is that word that calls so many probably to read this work...you are so telling in your treatment of them kind...thank you. As for pop culture, it earned it's lollipop for awhile and is on a backslide to those of us who take up the quill in hand and try to make a difference with it all. Thanks again.

This one made me think. You ARE a great observantionist. And what is most important, you can write about what you observe to enable others to experience it...from your point of view. This is what I like most about your writings. I can see through your eyes....into your thoughts...emotions...and perhaps...but JUST a bare sliver of a glimmer...into your soul. You are who you are...you think what you think...you write what you write...with a strength I find very compelling.
This poem...more that anything I've read of yours...makes me wish I knew you. Strange...wonder why?

POP CULTURE= Popular in todays society.

Bordel is not a word. I have a feeling that you know this. Was it a simple trick to attract those looking for a spicy poem about a w***e house? lol

I look at the most popular crazes in today's society and find it sadly lacking.

Take for an instant, Paris Hilton: She is plastered all over magazines simply because she drinks and drives. I remember last year when she went to jail for 10 days after violating her probation and driving under the influence, again. She has even made her own pornographic film. Our young people look up to this young woman who has been popularized by the media. When Paris was released from jail the whole fiasco was televised live all over the country. How sad. There is death, crime and a war going on, how could Paris Hilton's release from jail be of any importance in these days and times?

We have EMO kids who glorify cutting themselves. Homosexuality is becoming a new trend in some social circles.

Death and blood is becoming sexy?

I am sorry that I have began to rant. But, it seems to me that things of real substance have become rather boring and no longer has a place in pop culture.

The reality is: Sex, violence and even drug use is popularized by the media.

It is all very sad....

Clever use of words, clever twist from the start of the journey to the end... and oh, so true. Some great phrases... 'Dark, black, murky world, where intrigue Is hinted, maybe said Compassion for the underworld , dream Flatulence par excellence in place of joyBordel is perhaps another toy'
