My gift to herA Poem by EGNot all gifts are good.I gave her comfort, the feel of home. Trips to the beach, adventures in coves. And in return, she gave unspoken oaths. But she came back once, just a slight change. In the way she looked at me, since she's been away. Her smile now lifeless, no adventures today. She's found a new comfort, in the unknown fog. My voice silenced, she only hears your dialogue. Lonely adventures, I'm lost like a dog. But think about it, is it her or you? Did she lose interest, or figured out what you do? You've always had a habit, of going askew. But then again, how could she know? Was your respect for her, really that low? That you didn't even hide it, Suspicions do grow. Maybe my gift to her, was destroyed trust. Her self worth, turned to dust. But she can grow, move on and heal, just.
