Do You Care That The Stems Are Bleeding Now?

Do You Care That The Stems Are Bleeding Now?

A Poem by Ebits

The only people who are offended by pain are those who are at the root of it.

One does not reserve the right
to carelessly traipse through
the gardens of the hearts of others,
and expect not to be scolded
after they trample the stems and petals
of the delicate blossoms.
While this innocent, yet selfish frolic
may be done with the purest of intentions,
honest apologies are still in order
when not even a full bouquet
can be assembled of what is left,
and one (with a conscience) can not expect
to stand in the center
of a bruised and bleeding garden
and not feel remorse at observing
what ruin they have caused
to something so fragile
and so tenderly cared for.

I write in spurts. Furiously at times and not at all at others. I have no form. Whatever happens, happens. more..
