Permanent bruises

Permanent bruises

A Poem by Eden-Rose
"

Domestic violence can lead to more permanent bruises.

"
I ask her to take off her jacket, she refuses
She thinks she's proving her love by hiding bruises
She thinks it's her fault for lighting his fuses
She's to blame for not being one of his muses

To him this is only a game, her pain amuses
Her love and patience he physically abuses
I wish I could make her leave but she always makes excuses
Her strength is slowly fading and her body reduces
As she lays in her casket her family's sorrow diffuses
If only you could have prevented these permanent bruises

Your words are powerful and speaking out about something that needs to be talked about more. It speaks loudly to the ones that have experienced something similar and will hopefully open the eyes to the blind ones that can't see that abuse is a real problem out there. Keep up the writing (:

Your expression shocks like an electric jolt of Truth! So Sad but the heart is treacherous. Again your vivid writing walks us through it's journey.

This is a wonderful piece of writing, with chilling imagery and a discussion of a topic that continues to be swept under the rug. Keep up the good work! :)

ok give her my love
I really enjoyed reading this! The rhymes were on point! This is something that needs to be read by everybody, always remember that somebody cares and there is always help! Nicely written just one suggestion, here:

"but she always makes excuses"

I think it might sound better if you turn it into:

but she is always making excuses

Just a thought :)

Thank you for the review.
I love this so much. The reality of domestic abuse is something a lot of people don't really notice which is why I love reading poetry about it. It actually made me think of my poem Lightening Flashes. Keep writing!:)
