timid

timid

A Poem by Emily B

can I sit with you?

not too close

over here a little

I want to see what you see

I'll only rest my eyes on yours a moment

before I look back to the horizon

tell me

some private history that amuses you

let me hear the bravado in your voice

as I imagine great adventure

lean closer

so that your hand nearly brushes mine

as you paint pictures in the air

your wry smile

wreaks havoc with my heart

there is such power in a mere smile....yes the ending here was my favorite part. I love how you keep that little distance, not too close...asking for the sharing of secrets in seeing what they see. yes be close to me...but apart as well....but that smile....that all encompassing smile, will find my heart and send it racing. beautiful piece :)

this is so open, and overrun with calm. the whispering pines of my own subconscious fallacies are swept into a wind driven whispering waltz by this piece. what is the essence for a heart if not to embrace such havoc with such bodacious zest. the suggestive obliterates the experienced "before i look back to the horizon". excuse me for a moment, but this is poetry. we all carry it within us, regardless of whether we have ever spoken.

This is wonderful. Simply that. I could go on, but it would be for the sake of justification. It needs none. It's wonderful. Thank you

I made myself laugh yesterday while I was drinking tea..I had to make a conscious decision to spew it out or choke on it..
you know how people use that Phrase "dance like no ones watching"
My brain replaced dance w/ the word fart...there's some private history that amuses me....
I already had two serious reviews, so here's this one

A beautiful vignette... the shy one wanting the touch of the master, the sense of his close presence... the flood of desire...

It was written by Emily Burns shouldn't say it was brilliant without having to add anything else.
What an inspired write, you can certainly capture the anguish and excitement of love. The lines: 'the bravado in your voice', 'you paint pictures in the air with/ your wry smile' and 'wreaks havoc with my heart'. The sonics here are beautiful and the images so vivid, a smiling painting pictures, bravado in the voice.
