Snow Within the Forest

Snow Within the Forest

A Poem by Emily L

Another fall come and gone
The leaves became one with the ground now
The trees lost their once warm friends
Inches of snow sunk into the dry dehydrated grass
The snow made itself comfortable throughout the forest
for its long winters stay
Paw prints became visualized into the white substance
Deer's came out from hiding to sneak a berry or two
Doe's and their mothers would dance together beneath the
gray sky while those sly foxes decided to stay warm within
their holes they prepared for the winter
The forest was silent and cold
The snow filled sanctuary was now theirs to call home
Nothing but peace and serenity for a whole season
only with the occasional owl  hoot
Wouldn't it be nice

The forest is silent and cold, but it is a refugee to many. This reminds me of how pristine a new fallen snow can be, and how wildlife prepares for the seasons much like we do.

Good to meet you, Emily!

Thank you very much Kelly, glad you enjoyed!
I love how everything in this setting seems to be at peace and union. There is a great sense of serenity and tranquility that keeps nature at ease. Not even the harshness of winter can disrupt such a beautifully spoken world that you have created. Well done!
