Haphazard

Haphazard

A Poem by Mehak Mushtaq

Here fire burns to make water,
desire burns and makes emotion.
Faith, is how we know fear,
hope itself, mothers despair.

Lots of love - acquainted with pain,
God is the reason, sane or insane.
Be it where you water or the other side,
grass is greener where ever the sun doesn't hide.

Life as it came, was perfect,
was growth, was sense a defect?
What is it that keeps telling us,
"There's more to life", when death awaits us?

Why things beyond control
if I'm part of Your whole?
Why ecstasy if it can not last?
Why give vision, then take away fast?

Why nothing? Why nothing at all?
I'm busy making out where did I fall.
I swear this is the wrong path I walk on,
Neither well beaten, even evil walks (from night) towards dawn.

What incredible writing and thinking, incredibly far reaching and worthy, plus written so lucidly.

May i 'speak aloud' for a while, please. You've done what a fine writer should do, made your Friends' grey matter work extra time. Life walks hand in hand with everything - or should: emotions, thoughts, actions, dreams, pain and glory, et al. And it travels between coming into and sliding out of Presence. (Presence being Life on Earth) What we are and feel is all part of questioning every part of existence during what we think is only minutes but , in fact, is endless.. dust to dust to dust floating in light.

It's right to question, to learn. ' There's more to life", when death awaits us?' but it's more correct to live life to the full than to miss precious hours, days, years of living, do you think?

Thanks,
There is a sense of pain here that I don't quite understand. I am hoping it is only a passing moment and not what walks with you my friend. You are such a talented poet and that I feel is something you should smile about and thank God for this. Sometimes the slies go dark and rain does fall, but always, the sun will come out again. Very deep and sad poem.

I get the feeling that is about yearning and longing in a spiritual, philosophical sense.

In a way, it is.
another example of excellent work from India, fine quatrians that combine with the self-reflecting, questioning content...good one
