Story of a Broken Heart

My dimmed awareness fades away the nightmare you made a reality

The dizzying blackness a welcome blanket against the harsh truth

Each little red line dripping out chapters in a story of a shattered heart

The cold metal warmer than your callous suggestion we should part

 

My tears trickle slowly down to an empty crevice that held my heart

You stole the pieces and burned them in my face with a pitiless sneer

A toxic silence has taken your place as emptiness echoes through my mind

I handed you my heart only so you could watch me painfully unwind

 

With a distant crash, I hit the carpeted floor where I will sleep forever

The dizziness my drug against this brutal truth of a deceitful betrayal

Bleeding out the story of the heart, you broke in a dark corner all alone

The final chapter drips to an end, a story that will never be shown.
