Hot summer

I wrote this poem for a poem contest at my local library. I wrote it based on the times my siblings and I used to played outside.

Its very hot, to hot really
I’ve had too much lemonade
Just to cool off in the heat
But it was worth it

It was fun jumping around
Playing hide and seek
Making mud pies
And trying to keep cool


The sun has set now
And its time to go home
Time to pick up the trash
And go on home
