Ouch Mr E. I felt some thorns digging in to soft flesh here. Words can hurt. So annoying when you can’t fire back with a volley. Later you start to think of all the things you could have said. So relatable. Sending you all good wishes across the pond:)

How true....when someone puts us down, we are often left staring into space without a retort. Later on, we do think of all the great comebacks we could have used. Such is life. Just remember, what others think of you is none of your business! :) Very well written, E. Lydi**

I have had the same experience. Somehow, it's always easier to know later what you should have said. Damn a bunch of last words anyway.

Only comedians are quick with the quibs/ comebacks. Many times I've thought i wish I said something differently at the time even if it was sarcastic lol

I've been tripping over a lot of words lately, when I should really just sweep them up in case they form a something resembling poetry of some kind. Well, I'd rather that than break my neck on some convoluted word like erm...convoluted!
Sometimes I hark back to the days when words came to me freely, now they all come with a bill and a health warning attached..
My last failed attempt was when someone asked me for a word that meant very fast and all I could come up with was expasomethingly.
It could have been worse though E. I could have said expadeliciously! ☺
Hope you are well and bow-regard is doing a scooby door impression! ☺

Very true E.
It is life's great equaliser, that makes us all the same in the end.
Sometimes our words will not form sentences as they should. Sometimes they come out bitter and not light and airy. The struggles are real indeed

Einstein Noodle,
Well the use of 'quaking aspen' pulled me in on this one. I love the sound of the wind rustling the leaves of this tree. It does catch one's attention and it's use in this poem fits. And your choice of art is so right on! Yes the tendency towards listening and/or getting caught up the the business of others is not always affirming towards or to. Too much in the world, media to pull one down if we allow.
Thanks for your work, Blessings,
Kathy
