Blood and Roses

Blood and Roses

A Poem by Fran Marie

Nothing lasts forever

    roses wither,then die

and blood runs oh so cold

All things considered

in love, you can never say never

unless you've a good reason why

Take a moment to think it in

     beyond what's been told

              how love can disarm

Stripping your heart bare to bleed

       weak, lonely and forlorn

              your soul lost within

Blood and Roses

    both red, flowing and living

quickly ceases to a stalemate blue

When love walks out

    after all your giving

you find forever is not meant for you

A very sad poem :(
But I saw the title in my slumber and thought I'd have a read ..
I suppose that's the rub
given enough time , Nothing is forever
Lovers are parted by arguments, differences in aims
and if they get through all that
finally Death ...

The only thing that's forever is memory I suppose

A very beautiful yet tragic poem.
The pain that love can cause, the
stripping away, the bleeding, the wounds
that seem like they never heal, the dying of
something once so beautiful.

Great poem!

I like this piece love can take tragic turns just like in a William Shakespear piece.... overall I like o the imagery and detail you have put into this make it a very thought out work of art... nice job on this...

What a lonely heart breaker poem. Words bleed the nightmare true. Well written!

This poem was beautiful, heart wrenching and almost addictive. I swear, I read it three times in a row before finnally reviewing it. I don't know what draws me to it, the fact that I can relate to it... or something else entirely. I completely loved it.

Chloe.
