Winter Willow

Winter Willow

A Poem by Fran Marie

When the weeping willow cries
     and sways on yonder hill
whispering wisps of woe it sighs
in the hush of ev'ning still

with graceful limbs her canopy
     shedding the tears she knows
she will bring the first signs of spring
     as rapidly she grows

and poets tell her beauty in rhyme
     or perhaps in prose
but for now, her sweeping boughs in winter time
     stand alone in sweet repose

I wish we had Weeping Willows in Alaska. Next best thing is this poem. Nicely done!

Man, this is gorgeous! My fellow contestants have taken this contest to a level beyond my silly simple offering but come see how you like my piece for the Pagemaster 11 challenge. This is just lovely!
