Bewitched and Beguiled

Bewitched and Beguiled

A Poem by Fran Marie

Photobucket
Stars glimmer in space as they have for eons of time
and a distant moon shines its mysterious light
and you my love lay torn and tattered at my feet
whose soul has slept and eyes have weeped

In sad illusions of mortal earth
you have eaten of fruit red and quite round
in a underworld of moral dead
seeking mysteries of a higher realm

I am here to save you, rapture you in life's glow
Oh, yes, you can pretend not to feel or savor my presence
but just the same you will know
for your new heartbeat will tell you so

as the winds of desire engulf your essence rushing in
Clinging to my power you now become my second skin
you cannot deny or disapprove
bewitched and beguiled are you

Yes you may struggle and try to shake loose
saying you will not submit to this goddess frame
yet your trembling body.mind and soul
quivers in burning embers to remain

not wanting to return to darkness
I'll enrapture you with love and light
Luring you into lust and temptation so sweet
A flaming love-high of which you'll eat

you won't want to abandon these acts of lust
giving in you know you must
responding in a spellbound trance
with open trust

the stars glimmer in space as they have for eons of time
and I'm still here
and you can pretend not to feel
but now you know you have been bewitched

Romance at its passionate best...a sense of grandeur blended expertly with a vibrant sensuality..weaving a web of love and lust through delicate words....
And there is triumph in the voice of the seductress as she encompasses the hapless lover with her ethereal charm...giving so much and leaving so much more longing...
As John Keats would say
"La belle Dame sans Merci
Hath thee in thrall"
A ravishingly beautiful poem and the painting accompanying it too, I might add...

Many thanks, Kristina..much appriciated
Somehow...this poem brought to mind Adam and Eve...and how he ate the forbidden fruit and his soul was shattered. Giving him an offer of love, bliss and solace is Eve, in an enchanting and tempting manner. A tmeptation too powerful for him to resist. As has been for many eons in time. A very engrossing poem with a lot of magic and allure packed in every line.

You are welcome Fran Marie...
You have mastered this style of writing, it is one I can't even begin to write in not alone write as well as you do in it. Romance, erotica and even love runs strongly from your pen and this one is another one that is perfect.

WOW ... I guess that might be one of the best submissions for that contest ... I'm so jealous of your skills

You did everything so ferfectly, the choice of words, the rhythm, the sounds, the feelings ...

This is amazing!! But in the 6th saga, the 2nd line you say 'I'll Enraptured youwith love and light,' and it doesn't really make sense. Possibly I've enrapured you witht love and light or I'll enrapture you with love and light. Otherwise it is really good!!!

wow, that's magnificent power in flow, and spellbound, witchy, sensuously,
mystique. flowing and full of lively imagery, the graphic intels.
and the dark beauty resonates. wonderful job scribing, and a pleasure to read.
