Angels Embraces

Angels Embraces

A Poem by George David Hope

                                                                        ANGELS EMBRACES
His life is nearly over
He's lived it to the full
Pretty soon he'll meet his maker
He can feel it's heavenly pull
His eyes will remain open
But no longer will they see
His body he'll no longer need
All at peace he'll be
Knowing soon he'll be reunited
At his sweethearts side again
Feeling only purest love
Devoid of all his pain
He wonders if she'll be waiting
Eager for him to arrive
So they can share an angels embrace
Hoping their love it did survive
A light appears in a corner
And a voice it speaks to him
"It's time for you to join us"
He leaves without a whim
Gliding down a tunnel
To a distant light so bright
An angel to the left of him
Another to his right
Accompanied by an angel choir
He makes an entrance oh so grand
Now all in front of him
His long lost loved ones now do stand
First his father comes to greet him
His handshake still so strong
Next comes his mother
With a hug that lasts so long
Then he see's her standing there
His wife of umpteen years
Her body no longer broken
She can't hold back her tears
Now she's a girl of only 18 years
He looks down and he's young too
Returned to when they first met
To start their love a new
