Burn It All

Burn It All

A Poem by Gabrielle Henry

My anger is the lightning
cracking over mountaintops
setting the trees on fire
Trickling down
to cities populated with memories
burning down the buildings
leaving nothing but gray ash
clumped together like body bags
As thunder booms
think of it as my laughter
cackling at the irony
Tornadoes with winds full of fangs and venom
rip and tear through the city I’ve filled with ghosts
Demolishing
walls made of ruby red brick
The same walls I had up
before you.
