Privilege

Privilege

A Poem by Gabrielle Henry

Sit blindly
as the truths swirl in your world.
To acknowledge these
so called "fallacies"
would be to accept
the faults of your ancestors.
To accept that humanity has made
mistakes.

Only weak minds
turn from evidence
to shield their ego
in castles of deceit.
Or fraternities
brimming with roofies.
Waiting for unsuspecting freshman girls
Not unlike a wolf,
Stalking the child on her way to
Grandma's House.

Sit.
And don't you dare deny
the privilege of your
race,
gender, and
sexuality.

Your ignorance is toxic.
Choke on it.

This is REALLY rough and I kinda just spilled all of this out in like, 2 minutes. So bear with me. Thank you!
