Not Another Love Poem

Not Another Love Poem

A Poem by Devons
"

A cynical jest on the ubiquity of love...

"

Oh, another love poem!

how new, enlightening and fresh!

thank you for sharing this with us

remind me to remember your name

so I can distinguish it from the rest.

So you've been let down again, have you?

how many times is that now?

it's what you feel, your emotions - oh, right

this is real, this is life - oh, of course!

Yeah, this is just what we want - and how.

Yes, it's all part of letting go, I know

we all can relate to it too

it's your soul down on paper - just so

is there no other side to your soul?

Look, I've better things to do, so just go.

My oh my oh my! I completely think the tone of this works wonders. Witty: love poems seem to be this big hype and stupid craze that every author seems to write about. Is it because its so common to everyone? They can relate. Like you said: "we all can relate to it too" ... Perhaps, but I think just because it's an easy thing to express. "it's your soul down on paper - just so/ is there no other side to your soul?" .. Apparently not, because MOST, if not ALL the writers on here have something to do with this. Of course we have other sides to our soul- we just don't show them. We are venerable and display the agony and pain. Although I myself have written many love poems- this makes me wonder why I do it so often and if I should stop while I'm at it.

I feel like this is the "love poem" mocking me, talking back, making fun because I'd rather write about something so pathetic and lame. Actually this is what it is about- the love letter writing itself, but addressed to the reader.

"Look, I've better things to do, so just go." ... haha only if it said that to me everytime I've opened a word document and started to write. This was an awesome write. It totally deserves 100/100! I love how it's the love letter giving me attitude, and straightening me out.

lol, one can really be bored to tears reading about so and so and so and so mushy love poems & who did what to whom' and so forth, indeed; there are quite a lot of other topics to write about beside love poems~ I'm guilty! I write such poems as these, but also write about other things as well.

Nicely penned!

haha...this is really good..really..i don't really like Love Poems also..and i agree that there are more important things for us than just love..i just want to say one quote from the movie 'Wall Street'
'Love is a myth created purely to prevent people from jumping off the balcony'..
i really like this poem..take that lovers!..lol

HAHAHA I'm so there with you. It drives me crazy!! I'm not a big believer in love, anyway, but when you have some girl whining about a boy she likes... omg it drives me mad! Great write, glad someone finally said it. :D
