I must say

I must say

A Poem by Genevive

Like the jewelry tucked in its box,

so are my memories of you.

Every now and then I take them out

and dress them close to my heart.

I must say, that if I am to keep them, they will need

polishing, they are starting to tarnish.

the last two lines finished it beautifully

Simple and beautiful lines, a bit of perfection here

I love the way you started the poem.... it's already a jewel itself.
They will bling in the end... if you polished them! Wonderful wordplay!

Nice. So true how memories tarnish too. Says so much in so few words.

If I were him I would be rushing
to polish the jewels.
That tarnish can cover a lot of
wonderful memories.
This little poem, though short is
rife with potential . Hope he reads
poetry well. You have said so much
in this little space.
Congratulations--- You are a poet !
