Locked-Door Song

Locked-Door Song

A Poem by Zack Burton

Back to rhyming. A poem left to your interpretation. As always.

The chorus keeps repeating

Droning out my infamy
This radio of hate
You're beautiful so instantly
Another breath of hate
And why you fit so perfectly
Is an excuse I hate
Don't tell me you'll be there for me
When all that's left is hate

If you asked me, I'd just shrug
I don't have time to salt this slug
Because I don't know
This rodeo

The chorus keeps repeating

My father-mother love for you
is sucking dry my love for you
And now I feel my love for you
is something out of place

This part is the music break
Hooked in here to sing
And though I'm lost in every ache
I still can feel the sting
God knows why I'm doing this
It slurps up all my pain
The blood caress my only kiss
You dry my every stain

The chorus keeps repeating

You think I am a friend or foe?
I just don't know this rodeo
You block me off with tell and show
I just don't know this rodeo
You've got me falling, sinking low

The chorus keeps repeating

The first time I read this through I wasn't so fond of it, but the second and the third time I started adding my own beat to it almost. I liked the way that you used the line "the chorus keeps repeating" I think that it was very well placed throughout. I loved the repetition that you used and there was a fantastic rhyme scheme that I could only ever dream of being able to do myself.

Very well done!

Howdy, folks, I'm Zack Burton. I already have two accounts on this site, but seeing as I'm utterly dissatisfied with them both, they should be closed by now. I'm much more of a poet than a short s.. more..
