Your bloody heart...

Your bloody heart...

A Poem by Robert Gordon

This is a parody of E E Cummings' "I carry your heart with me" (sorry E E)

I carry your heart with me darling;

I carry it in a box.

I'm never without it dearest;

It rests on a bed of socks.

Our love, my sweet, was fated,

but our love, my dear, was true,

And I’ve never found a heart so big,

as the one that was once in you.

The deepest secret that nobody knows,

And it really is quite scary

Wonder of wonders, they wonder where

the rest of you is buried...

HAHA! This is very amusing, I was afraid it would not be worthy of ee cummings poem (which I love), but it IS!!

Haha, I like this. I thought I was reading a poem from a card to begin with but then the last verse made me laugh. Nicely done.

In my own personal dimension I discovered this to be charming. Your words are compelling and something I can take to heart and mold into image after image of artistic lore.
