My Final Goodbye

My Final Goodbye

A Poem by Gregory Lara
"

we told each other we'll always be there for each other, and when i needed you most...you werent there..

"
I never got a goodbye from you..
The night we spent together was the best night of my life

I remember it clearly,
Your head on my chest
Your hand in my hand..
Just like we always talked about

I thought how beautiful you look as I was holding you
I didnt want that night to end

 We kissed, we touched
And i felt alive..

I knew we'll be happy..
But I never knew it was the last I will hear you say
"I love you"

We messaged each other saying goodnight
It was a goodnight,
But the morning wasnt

I never got a call or text from you
Telling me how your day went
If youre safe, so i wouldnt worry

And today I knew why..
You decided to leave me
I never got a goodbye

This is my final goodbye
Be safe always, live your life
Find someone new, someone who will love you, as I loved you
I love you, I just wish I got a goodbye from you and not someone else..
Goodbye my love...

oh gosh, those moments you spend together thinking oh how wonderful, never wanting it to end. But then for some reason it does, not knowing why.
This is beauifully sad
Nicely written, makes the reader feel that sadness, feel the questioning.
The ending was very good, mature.
Loved this sad piece

When I read this, each line hit me so strongly. Each line so beautifully constructed. It has so much emotion. I could feel each word as it left your mind and formed into a poem. So sad. But so lovely.

Nicely detailed...it almost seems like you could also put this in a prose format. I really love the story you told.

Those separations with no reasons or goodbyes leave us wondering for many years. I like the story. We need words of separation to understand and to have closure. A powerful poem with a sad story. A excellent poem. Thank you.

I found this a very insightful seminar and one of the best I’ve been to in a while. Very good speakers and some great information and examples. Please do inform me of any other forthcoming Neighbourhood Planning seminars.
