My Tired Heart

My Tired Heart

A Poem by Giulia King

Frank Sinatra - I've got you under my skin, starts to play.
As we slow dance into infinity,
I look into your eyes and realize they're my favorite color.
I shake my head and close my eyes.
Suddenly it all made sense.
When my eyes met his,
I realized that forever was never going to be enough with him.
As I open them up I realize I'm alone in the dark.
It's always about you, you know.
The daydreams, a hundred tiny daydreams about you, about us.
I find myself getting lost with you in a world that doesn't even exist.
You're everything to me, the only star that remains brighter than others.
Being without you is pure darkness,
I suppose it will all make sense someday.
My intuition is telling me there will be better days.
Until then I will keep on dancing, perfecting my curves and moves.

Hear me, my tired heart,
Some things never change and that's the beauty of the world.
After all it's true, I've got you under my skin.
. . .

His music commanded respect, very smooth and so alive. Lovely poem.

My pleasure.
I loved the imagery that this poem brought to me. The combination of hope with the melancholy that was how you started the work. Yes, as a sunday scribble, you have done well.

A million thanks, Ashan! :)
This was very beautifully painted, Guilla! How funny it was that at the mid-point in the piece where you opened your own eyes, you opened mine as well. The image I had in mind leading up to that point got completely washed away by the lines that followed. :)

Very well written images!

My pleasure!
Somethings never change and I believe they should not, because in this constantly changing world where the earth is moving at a speed of 1400 miles per hour it's too hard to find something unchangeable, but if we can find at least one of those things, like first love which gives us a feeling that no love could ever give, then we are one of those lucky ones... Great work frnd...

Sincerely

This is the best thing I've read this year :) You're absolutely right my friend
Great imagery! Big fan of Sinatra too! Very deep, sensitive, heartfelt piece!
I enjoy how it touches the heart with yearning, but also shows how music can spark a thought or memory so vivid one can get carried away!
Well written!!
