Insanity

Insanity

A Poem by Gurglesnarch van Caasi
"

For all the maniacs within us

"
Insanity

There's a madman deep inside all of us
And sometimes one without
Sometimes he seems quite normal
But this normality's oft in doubt
He is a clown or lunatic
A maniacal, freakish jester
He makes us laugh and cry and scream
His brain has begun to fester
Whoever he is, this man and beast
Could be evil or fictitious
He could be caring, or care too much
And say we taste delicious
His smile is too wide
And his knife blades are too sharp
The angels that surround him
Play on horns instead of harps
He is chained to his metal bed
His fingernails claw the floor
He is contorting violently
The latches are heavy that bolt the door
We all go nuts at some point
There is always a time when we don
The armor of anger and violence
And attack Sense's gates with our swords all drawn
Or maybe we don't "become" mad
Maybe we simply Are
Maybe we are most true to ourselves
Those times when we "go too far"
Maybe madness is our nature
Maybe lunacy is our way
So why don't we all go crazy
Instead of pretending to be sane?
Because I know you; you're in the ward
On floor thirteen, room one-o-five
If you are wearing a straight jacket
Don't say you haven't lost your mind
Now look at the foam on my frothing mouth
And understand what I'm trying to say
With madness there is naught else
But to just admit "I'm born this way"
So show me your sanest;
I'll show you their scars
The chains on their wrists
And the pain in their hearts
Show me the geniuses
I'll show you their brains
When you hold them yourself
You'll know you're insane
Now lace up my jacket; it's time for my sleep
I'll writhe on this cot all alone
To you and your friends. you imagined fiends
This ward in my mind is my home.

So many good lines to quote and so many wisdom in these lines. Like they say:" There is a fine line between insane and genius."
Bravo.............
