I Birthed a Bronco

I Birthed a Bronco

A Poem by Harmony Best

Field trip to the junk yard to meet my unborn child
And tow him home, to work on his miles
Build me a baby to be my heart, my first love
But before I conceive the engine, I'll paste on my gloves
I predict they will be on for a while no reason to take them off
I'm putting hard work on this, no reason it should be soft
After the necessary fuel pump, fuel injector, brake disc, brake pads
Strut, Rod, Distributer and a few chrome wheels to add
I'll fool around with the axle assembly, take a look at that starter
Tighten up those spark plugs and get that wire cover
Then I think I'll replace that speed sensor, gotta know how fast I'm going
Trade out that torque converter too, get that automatic flowing
Yes my baby will be something else
My most prized procession, kept from my shelf
I may just add some recreational
Just to speed up the pace a little
Might get Sexy Baby to install an auto-start
He's my best friend daily, so I'll trust him with my heart
I'll leave the flashy T.V's to the pretty boy stunners
Take that GPS instead, be unstoppable, road runner
And when all is said and done, I'll rest in the sunset
Curled up in my 1997 Bronco, reminiscing on the day we first met.
