Never grow up

Never grow up

A Poem by Hana Linzi
"

I wish I could go back to being a young child and not have to worry about a soul around me really.

"
As young as I was,
all I thought was getting scraped knees
and bleeding was the only way of getting hurt.
It may have tricked, or roared
down my pale smooth skin.
Time and time again.
maybe a tear would fall,
or maybe some anger came raging out.
After awhile.
I was fine again.
Up to playing outside on the swings,
riding on my bike,
or some fun with others
one on one game of basketball.

Back in those days,
We never really heard of the internet,
or that you could talk to someone on the other end.
We never tried to sneak out our windows.
but only to stay up a little later than were suppose to.
Scary movies weren't aloud to be played before our bedtime.
And we were up as the sun arose.
Saturday was our favorite day,
The TV was surrounded
with bowls of cereal in all our laps.
By the time all the great shows were off the air,
we all were outside soaking up the sun.

Back in those days,
We looked up to the older ones.
admired their every move.
The way they walked,
they way they talked,
the way they held their head up high,
and the way they had so many opportunities.
In those days,
we played house,
we played school,
we played store.
All things that show that we could do it.

Back in those days,
we weren't gripping our hands so tight,
trying to fight back the ages we've gain since then.
On the way to higher education,
on the way to a new begging,
Where we defend for ourselves.
If we don't work, we don't eat,
On the way down the aisle,
on the way to more and more bills,
on the way to be on your own.
on the way for your own future.

We look back to those days now.
Wishing we could be those small lil children once again.
Where we have no responsibilities,
no having to do something,
no defending for ourselves.
Your only really hurt by scrapes and bruises you've made,
You acted like big shots.
trying to show off to everyone who passed by.

But you know what?
That's when we all lived life to the fullest,
We didn't care what people thought,
or all the things we had to do.
We did what we wanted in tell our parents forces us to.
Go back to be a child when you have children.
But weigh it with what you truly have to do.
Be yourself.
Be the child you should be when your old.
Be the one to have fun.
don't grow up to fast,
Only once do we live our lives out that way.
