My Escape

My Escape

I don't mean to leave so soon

but I feel as if I must go 

the fear has taken over 

and the moon is on my shoulder. 

These words don't come easily

but I really need to flee

this place I call home 

this place is no home  

To you I owe nothing

though I gave you everything 

the clock now strikes 

so I will hitchhike 

my way through this life

Leaving is sometimes very difficult as I can see from this piece I just read. I think it good to talk with someone about the feelings one may have about leaving. When you talk to another you gain insight and maybe the decision will be a better one , whichever that decision may be.

What do you do when there is no one left to talk to?

There is always someone to talk too, a friend, teacher. relative, counselor, priest, to name a few. Does that bring any to mind?

I really like this. It says a lot in only a few words. The only hitch is the two lines both ending in 'home'

It is one of those hard decisions of human life....Its hard to leave something you love so dearly, something you cared so much and suddenly you have to leave....I can feel the emotion of this poem and can relate to it from my personal experiences.....Great work....The words used here are quite superb my frnd.....

time is up and this place is no longer my refuge so it's time to thumb my way through what's left of my time on Earth... it's never easy to pick up and start over, but it is doable... even if it is only to leave in the mind, sometimes it's enough...nicely-done
