Farewell to a FriendA Poem by Life Inside Death
Looking back on this life So many good memories to share But of course I have nightmares Of what happened over there
A horrible crash Those horrible screams My best friend’s image Still haunting my dreams
Your time here was short I shed a tear We let you go On your twelfth year
That slow ride up the mountain Through the mud and rain Your families’ crying Still echoes in my brain
Every day I know you’re gone A candle lit for you and your mother This is my last goodbye to you I know you’re listening
I hope the other side is bright I hope you’re happy where you are We serenade your memory While staring at the stars
A star shines bright for you It could never fade We wondered what we should do I wish you could have stayed
5 years have passed I know you remember The ones who touched your heart Best friends for life and after death We’ll never be apart.
