Still there?

Still there?

A Poem by Mark
"

lost love trying to live again

"
Why don't you stop this? Why can't you go?
All the way, I've bought the play
and the reasons you should know.

I felt the grass under your feet give way
I wondered if the world ended
I stopped thinking and gave you away.

I come back, I still care, I want to know
I want to know, I want to know
Are we still there?

Unfolded scars revealed in the dark
I considered a pleasant ending
to let you go without a mark.

Leaving was my greatest gift
staying so hard for a wanderer
I gave reason to our rift.

I want to know, I want to know, I have to know....
Can we still be there?

I've wondered this about an old love. I let him go for good reasons but its still hard to think about the what ifs! I love the way you express these thoughts... ;-)

Thanks Ang.... actually, this wasn't about any particular woman, just a general feeling.
Full of regret and questioning, sounds like love and life in a nutshell, nice read, been there. Enjoyed this Mark.

Thanks bro
The poem asked true questions of love. We come to a path where we must decide is it love or there is nothing left? I like the honest feel and emotion in the words. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

A echoing pleading poem tinged with deep regret. It sounds as though the protagonist left to make a point but made it too well. Nicely portrayed.
