Inertia

Inertia

A Poem by Mark
"

It's just so easy to stay in the rut

"
I feel the heavy stone wheel
pulling me back.
In chains soothing, I fight the sleep.

So easy, just put down the struggle
change is too much, too hard, too...
unknown.

Rolling inertia grows
gathering the moss of my intentions
grinding down my will
to move forward.

Inward screams,
muscles flexed
I must MOVE
before the stone becomes a mountain.

Thank you dear Mommy :)
Good poem. It is easy to get in a rut. Particularly a comfortable one

ya it's great to stay with the familiar even when you know it's not right. :P
put your back into it, the moment for momentum is a hair breadth and will never come back to us

holler out if you need help getting started, we are all one

That is what I need, a coach to kick me figuratively in the backside!
Rolling inertia grows
gathering the moss of my intentions
grinding down my will
to move forward.
I absolutely love these lines

You capture that feeling hopelessness that many of us can feel from time to time. But yes, you must move there is not getting away from a falling mountain.

Thank you. Perhaps I have idealized you, but I don't see you as someone with this issue lol.

Thank you for reading and your kind comments. :)
Wise words Mark. We hate the rut but it is known to us and we find a weird kind of comfort in that.

Thanks for reading Blue :)
Really well written. I agree it seems easier at times to let things or ourselves slide, but in the long run we will be pulled back even farther from our destination. Nice poem at this beginning of the year where people reflect and often resolve to do better.
