Homesick

Homesick

A Poem by Chemical Kitten
"

Every now and then

"
Every now and then
It hits me
Everything that
I have left behind

Golden leaves
windy roads
snow days
and the smell of
sunshine
and rain

All the faces I have
forgotten
And all the places
that I haven't

Back when
my family was
whole
and
innocence
was always there

When things didn't
hurt
like they do now

Every now and then
I am suddenly
heartbroken
and
homesick
for a place that
I left behind
