Momentum

Momentum

A Poem by Island Hippy

The second I feel the swell building beneath me, the momentum of the wave. I become one with this sacred energy. It fuses it's life with mine, though I am at its mercy it is by grace that I share this space. The cold reminds me to be grateful, invigorates my soul and fills my mind with the majesty of earths salt. A breaking wave on the precipice of dusk where the sun kisses the horizon an encore for sister moon.

Years ago. I befriended the surfers in Monterey. They try to teach to surf. No balance. One of my friends gave me a suicide board. I suicided boarded three Winter Storm season on the Monterey coastline. I understand the poem. To dance in the arms of the waves. Make you feel so small and wonderful. Thank you my friend for sharing the excellent poetry. I enjoyed this one.

Much mahalo Al, I appreciate your words. Izzy
To be aware of the all around is truly magical.. the sea offers more than its movement but its gift of adveture, danger not withstanding which the surfer has to understand. And thrive upon. Tes?

I've decided to dust down my magic carpet and come join you... your words beckon, your love of place is undeniable.. think i'll take pics of your happiness pon that surf. Thank you so much, memories abide inside of me! xx

Thank you.. those beautiful words will be my Linus blanket..
There is something majestic about surfing the waves.
When the surfer comes into view with the waves crashing. It all makes sense.
