A Special Friend

How do I thank you 
for all you've done for me 
when my world was turned upside down 
and I was free falling from the sky? 

You gave me a soft place to land 
comforted me in ways many could not 
you helped to ease the pain and heartache 
of losing someone I loved 

You gave me a place of refuge 
when I sought shelter from the world 
and mended my broken spirit 
with the strength and warmth of yours 

Your enlighten intelligence 
and keen understanding 
had literally saved me from 
the gloom and doom of despair 

You can't begin to fathom 
the depths of my undying gratitude 
for all that you've done for me 
you truly are ... a blessing, Jude
