Surely Last

I wrote this poem several years ago based off of the anime show Inuyasha.

Since the day they met,

they had always been close,

but instead of happy and dry,

their eyes were sad and wet,

why this happened no one knows,

they promised that their tears would be kept,

they lied for still they wept.

For the distance was too great,

one lived in the present and one in the past,

to be together was never their fate,

but their love will surely last.
