Love Attracts Love

Love Attracts Love

A Poem by John the Baptist
"

A meditation on loneliness

"
Many are those who feel
Unloved,

Despite petitions to powers
Above,

But neediness dulls the force
Of attraction,

And hopelessness is the womb
Of inaction,

But love yourself well and the
Picture may alter,

For love attracts love, and no
Fear makes it falter.

I agree my friend.
"For love attracts love, and no
Fear makes it falter."
I liked Donne's words. "We don't find love. Love will find us." Thank you John for sharing the amazing poetry and your thoughts.

Hello my friend and you are welcome.
It's epidemic, the way lonely people reach out by expressing how much they miss or need . . . you can feel the ether waves draw back from such neediness (((HUGS)))

Thanks, bg. The sad thing is most needy people don't realize why they repel people.

Love this John, I don't know if you're a Christian but one of all time favorite verses in the bible is, 'there is no fear in love, but perfect love casts out fear"
Your poem reminded me of that...brilliant!

Perhaps we project wavelegths through the air somehow. Would this be the power of attraction? Don't know but I think you're right. To me, you always are. Ha.

You won't receive love by praying to the Higher Up.... and if you think you're down and out, that won't help either. One has to convince oneself that true love comes from within, from loving yourself first; then one has the ability to love another, to be in the same space, a comfort zone of togetherness.

I’m sorry for that, but I do agree!😊
confidence breeds confidence and respect from others...if we display a comfort level with ourselves others will feel the same way around us.

Thanks, j. What we project from within is what comes back to us from without.
Full of wisdom this little write is. If you can't love yourself, you will find it more difficult to love others. These days I have come to the conclusion that there are many people who don't love themselves, so the knock on effect is like ripples spreading through the pond. All the best John from across the waters.

Very wise words John, and so true. I believe it as well that I to wrote a similar piece. One must learn to love oneself before they can truly love anyone else. Thank you for sharing your poem.
