Questions of Poets

Questions of Poets

A Poem by JE Falcon
"

Just a poem asking questions, and a possible conclusion.

"

Did poets begin

When they looked within

And expressed the drama they knew,

Or did they find birth

While mixing wit and mirth,

Crafting a limerick while having a brew?

Did they arise

From word-painted skies,

While expounding the colors of birds,

Or when flowers were seen

In gardens, pristine?

Their visuals weaved into words.

Are they old as time?

Or was man in his prime

When crafting his very first verse?

Was it a woman born poet,

And we just don't know it,

Writing Odes to her very first purse?

Well, I guess it doesn't matter,

The former or latter,

The point to this story should be

That poets came about

And once others found out

It was a wonderous thing to see.

An excellent holiday gift to the writers in our community JE. I really liked this poem of yours and had wish I would have written it. Who says we writers aren't an envious lot? I'm definitely willing to admit I am hahaha. Especially when I read a poem I so enjoy. Wonderful work my friend.

I like this very much. Great rhymes and the entire poem feels well balanced.

I'll assume it is prim and not prime.

Great writing. :)
