I Don't Care

I Don't Care

A Poem by J. F. Charleston

I don't care
what they say
all that you are
satisfies me

To them
you're not the prettiest
or the most popular
but you are those things to me
you're that shiny gem
you're the mermaid in the bright blue sea

I don't give a crap
of what you were
all that matters to me
is who you are now and what you'll be

Come on now
you'll never find
anyone else that loves you
as much I do

I don't care
if you can bare my child or not
you are the one that I care about
I swear I'll shout
to the entire world

Just you
is all I'm wanting
everything else
I can forget

Caring for you
is all I'm going to do
giving you all what I can
is an honor and pleasure
trust me, I'm your biggest fan

I don't care what you tell me
just trust me
I'm not disappointed or let down
I'm not worried about everything else
just you and family is just what I want.

"All the things you've done
and all the choices you've made.."

It's my favorite quote a man gave to the woman of his heart. Anyway, I love all the points you made. All the things that maybe somebody else would turn their back on (being unable to bear a child) that's a HUGE one...who she was before you met...how your love is the one gift she will receive over and over no matter the circumstance... your poem is a dream come true for those of us still waiting for that lover who just says, "I Don't Care" what or who you think you are...as long as your mine". That is just... if only... Your friend is very lucky and a wonderful dedication to that friend... hope they know just how much they inspire you... :)

Wow, this was truly not what I was expecting when I read the title. I thought it would simply be about life, but no. It's about something much deeper.

Truly the best stanza out of this poem, as I can relate to it. Wonderful job!

I like the reason and the purpose of the poem. Good to love someone for their strength and weaknesses. Negative voices needed to be silence. A strong ending to a outstanding poem.

this is a well made narrative poem and the feelings here are also well portrayed by the writer. so, great job and while I'm reading this I really feel like you're telling me that I'm the best woman in the world. well, that's just my imagination. I know this poem is probably dedicated to a different person~
