Runnin'

Runnin'

A Poem by J. F. Charleston

Wind blowing through the mane

sun shine burning my skin

the coolness of the fall

the thrill of the ride

oh my, God here we go

The dash across the land

the sound of heavy breathing

and hooves on the ground

fill our ears with joy in our hearts

Runnin' in the dawn

the sun coming up

lighting the landscape

lighting our path

we're runnin'

Never a thought more

never a thought less

peace at the core

peace in a mess

This mustang unleashed

this cowboy unbound

nothing but one

nothing but profound

Thunderous beats

ripple across the ground

lightning speed

unveiled to sound

Runnin' in the dusk

the sun going down

darkening the landscape

darkening our path

we're runnin'

I could feel myself running. It takes you close to nature whenever it says about wind. I really love the formation of the poem.

Awesome! I can feel the wind in my hair, smell the fresh morning air and hear the sound of magic...horses hooves tramping through my memories. Beautiful! ~Sharon
